Glen Powell vs. Giant Ants In “Them!” Talk

A new rumour indicates that “Chad Powers” and “The Running Man” star Glen Powell is being eyed for the lead role in the remake of the 1954 sci-fi horror classic “Them!”.

DanielRPK (via Dread Central) broke the report saying the filmmakers are interested in Powell for the part, but that’s still a long way from talks, let alone negotiations.

First announced in early 2023, Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino is slated to make his big-screen directing debut on the project which is being produced by Matt Reeves.

Gordon Douglas helmed the original in which a nest of ants in the New Mexico desert has grown gigantic after being irradiated by nuclear test blasts.

It becomes a national threat when two young queen ants and their consorts escape to set up new nests, and ends with a showdown in the Los Angeles sewer system.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Rogue One,” “Star Trek” and “The Batman” composer Giacchino made his directorial debut with Marvel’s “Werewolf by Night” special, which earned strong reviews.
